As luck would have it... A funny thing happened the next morning. It was Monday... my day off, and I was awakened by the phone ringing. It was a temp agency in Silicon Valley whom I'd signed up with in 1992. They'd never succeeded in placing me with a job and I eventually gave up calling them. Now they were calling me out of the blue and offering me a 5-day job doing data entry at a big computer company in Cupertino. |
